Montgolfier balloon
The Montgolfier balloon, invented by the Montgolfier brothers in the late 18th century, is a type of hot air balloon. It works on the principle that warm air is lighter than cold air. The brothers created a large balloon using fabric and heated air from a fire below, which caused the balloon to rise. Their first successful flight occurred in 1783, carrying an uncrewed basket filled with animals. This invention marked the beginning of human flight, leading to further developments in ballooning and aviation. Montgolfier balloons remain a symbol of early exploration of the skies.
