Misrepresentation or Fraud
Misrepresentation or fraud occurs when one party to a contract intentionally provides false information or misleading statements that influence another party's decision to enter the contract. If a person relies on this false information and suffers harm as a result, they may have a valid defense to enforce the contract. In essence, it means that the agreement may not be credible because it was built on deception, allowing the deceived party to potentially void the contract or seek damages.
