Mining Residuals

Mining residuals refer to the leftover materials and waste generated during the extraction of minerals and resources from the earth. When minerals like coal, gold, or copper are mined, not all material is valuable; much of it consists of rock, soil, and other substances that are not extracted. These residuals can include tailings (the waste left after minerals are separated) and slag. Proper management of mining residuals is crucial, as they can impact the environment, leading to soil degradation, water pollution, and habitat destruction if not handled responsibly.
