Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP)
Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles are specially designed military vehicles built to protect occupants from explosive threats, such as mines and roadside bombs. They feature a unique V-shaped hull that deflects blasts away from the vehicle, enhancing safety for soldiers inside. MRAPs are heavily armored and equipped to endure harsh environments, making them effective in conflict zones. Initially developed for the U.S. military during the Iraq War, MRAPs have become essential for transporting troops and equipment safely while minimizing casualties from ambushes and improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
