
Miguel Hidalgo
Miguel Hidalgo was a Mexican priest and revolutionary leader who played a key role in Mexico's fight for independence from Spain. On September 16, 1810, he issued the "Grito de Dolores," calling for freedom, justice, and social equality, which sparked widespread rebellion. Known as the "Father of Mexican Independence," Hidalgo earned respect for his leadership and vision of a more just society. His efforts eventually led to Mexico declaring independence in 1821. Despite his death in 1811, his advocacy and courage remain celebrated, making him a national hero in Mexico.
