Midshipmen

Midshipmen are students in a military naval academy, such as the United States Naval Academy, who are training to become officers in the naval service. They undergo a rigorous education that combines academic studies, leadership training, and military instruction. Midshipmen typically hold ranks equivalent to that of a junior officer and participate in various mandatory activities, including physical training and naval drills. Upon graduation, they are commissioned as officers, ready to serve in roles that require both technical knowledge and leadership skills within the navy or marine corps.
