Michelle McNamara was an American true crime journalist and author best known for her book "I'll Be Gone in the Dark," which investigates the identity of the Golden State Killer, a serial criminal who terrorized California in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Her work combined meticulous research with a personal narrative, highlighting her obsession with the case.
