Metacognitive Awareness Inventory
The Metacognitive Awareness Inventory (MAI) is a tool used to assess how well individuals understand their own thinking processes, particularly in learning and problem-solving. It helps gauge awareness in two main areas: knowledge about one's own cognitive abilities (what you know) and regulation of those abilities (how you manage your learning). In the context of general knowledge, the MAI can reveal how effectively a person reflects on their understanding of various topics, adapts their strategies for learning new information, and monitors their progress, ultimately enhancing their ability to acquire and apply general knowledge.
