Mesoamerican cultures
Mesoamerican cultures refer to the diverse societies that developed in central Mexico to parts of Central America, from around 2000 BCE to the Spanish conquest in the 16th century. Notable civilizations include the Olmec, Maya, and Aztec, each known for their advancements in agriculture, astronomy, and writing. They built impressive cities with pyramids and temples, engaged in complex trade, and practiced organized religion. Their rich cultures included unique art, mathematics, and governance. Mesoamerican societies significantly influenced later cultures in the region and have left a lasting legacy evident in modern Mexican and Central American traditions.
