Menno Simons

Menno Simons (1496-1561) was a Dutch religious leader and a key figure in the Anabaptist movement during the Protestant Reformation. He emphasized adult baptism, rejecting the practice of infant baptism, and advocated for a faith based on personal conviction, nonviolence, and community. His teachings shaped the Mennonite faith, which values pacifism, simplicity, and a commitment to living in accordance with Jesus' teachings. Simons’ writings and leadership helped to organize and unify Anabaptist communities, which often faced persecution for their beliefs. Today, Mennonites are known for their emphasis on peace and social justice.
