Medicare Act

The Medicare Act, established in 1965, is a U.S. federal program that provides health insurance primarily for individuals aged 65 and older, although it also covers some younger people with disabilities and certain diseases. It has four main parts: Part A covers hospital stays, Part B covers outpatient care and medical services, Part C allows private insurance plans to offer Medicare coverage, and Part D provides prescription drug coverage. The program aims to help seniors manage healthcare costs and ensure access to necessary medical services.
