Max Wertheim

Max Wertheimer was a German psychologist and one of the founding figures of Gestalt psychology, a school of thought that emphasizes understanding human perception and experience as whole, organized patterns rather than as individual components. He believed that the mind intuitively perceives objects as unified wholes, which fundamentally influences how we interpret the world. Wertheimer’s work explored principles of perceptual organization, such as similarity and proximity, shaping understanding in psychology, visual arts, and design. His insights laid the groundwork for many modern psychological theories regarding perception, problem-solving, and insight.
