Mathematical idealism

Mathematical idealism is the philosophical view that mathematical concepts and objects, like numbers and shapes, exist independently of human thought. It suggests that these abstractions are not merely inventions of the mind but are discovered, much like natural laws. Proponents argue that mathematics has an objective reality and that mathematicians uncover truths that exist outside of our experiences. This contrasts with other views that see mathematics as a human construct or a language. In essence, mathematical idealism posits that there’s an underlying realm of mathematical truth that exists regardless of whether anyone is there to observe it.
