Massachusetts Right to Repair Law
The Massachusetts Right to Repair Law allows consumers and independent mechanics to access the information and tools needed to repair vehicles. Enacted in 2012, it requires auto manufacturers to provide necessary diagnostic and repair data in a way that’s easy for consumers and repair shops to obtain. This law aims to promote competition, reduce repair costs, and empower consumers by ensuring that they have the freedom to choose where and how their vehicles are repaired, rather than being limited to the manufacturer's service centers. It helps support the right to keep and maintain one's property.
