Marcus Licinius Crassus

Marcus Licinius Crassus was a Roman politician and wealthy general active during the 1st century BCE. Known as one of the wealthiest men in Roman history, he gained his fortune through real estate and other business ventures. Crassus played a key role in Roman politics, forming part of the First Triumvirate alongside Julius Caesar and Pompey. He is remembered for his military command against the slave revolt led by Spartacus, though his reputation was also marked by greed and ambition. Crassus ultimately died in 53 BCE during a military campaign in Parthia, marking a significant turning point in Roman history.
