Makkah (Mecca)
Makkah, also known as Mecca, is a city in Saudi Arabia and the holiest site in Islam. It is the birthplace of the Prophet Muhammad and the location of the Kaaba, a cube-shaped structure inside the Masjid al-Haram, where Muslims direct their prayers. Every year, millions of Muslims visit Makkah to perform Hajj, a pilgrimage mandated in Islam. Makkah also plays a significant role in Islamic teachings and culture. Non-Muslims are prohibited from entering the city, emphasizing its sacred status within the Islamic faith.
