Louis IX

Louis IX, also known as Saint Louis, was the King of France from 1226 to 1270. He is remembered for his pious nature, dedication to justice, and efforts to reform the legal system, promoting the idea of fairness in governance. Louis led two Crusades in the Holy Land but faced difficulties in both. He was canonized as a saint in 1297 due to his charitable works and strong moral character. His reign is often seen as a high point in medieval France, marked by cultural and economic development, and he is the only French monarch to be declared a saint by the Catholic Church.
