LN2 Safety Guidelines

Liquid nitrogen (LN2) is extremely cold, reaching temperatures around -196°C (-321°F). When handling LN2, always wear insulated gloves, goggles, and long sleeves to prevent frostbite and burns. Work in well-ventilated areas to avoid asphyxiation, as nitrogen can displace oxygen. Store LN2 in proper, vented containers to prevent pressure build-up. Never seal LN2 in airtight containers. Be cautious of splashes and spills, as they can rapidly create hazardous conditions. Lastly, always follow institutional guidelines and training when working with LN2 to ensure safety.
