Lin Biao

Lin Biao was a prominent Chinese military leader and politician during Mao Zedong's era. He played a key role in the Chinese Communist Party's rise to power and was instrumental in several military campaigns. Lin became Mao’s designated successor and served as Vice Chairman of China. However, in 1971, he was involved in a mysterious and controversial incident: he allegedly attempted to escape China by plane, which crashed, leading to his death. His sudden fall from favor shocked China and remains a subject of speculation and debate today.
