Legislative Procedures

Legislative procedures refer to the steps a proposed law, known as a bill, goes through before it becomes official. Typically, the process starts with the bill being introduced in a legislative body, such as Congress. It is then reviewed and debated in committees, followed by discussions in the full chamber. If approved, it moves to the other chamber for similar scrutiny. If both chambers agree, the bill is sent to the president (in the U.S.) for approval or veto. Only after these thorough deliberations can a bill become law, ensuring it is carefully considered and debated.
