Lebensraum

Lebensraum, a German term meaning "living space," was a concept used by Nazi ideology to justify territorial expansion. It argued that Germany needed more territory to ensure the nation's strength, resources, and survival. This idea promoted the belief that expanding into neighboring regions, especially Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union, was necessary for Germany’s prosperity. The concept was tied to aggressive imperialism and ultimately contributed to the outbreak of World War II, as it justified conquest and the displacement of populations to achieve these territorial goals.
