Layer 2 and Layer 3 Networking

Layer 2 networking, known as the Data Link layer, deals with data transfer between directly connected devices in a local network, using MAC addresses to identify devices. It ensures reliable communication and error detection. Layer 3, the Network layer, manages the routing of data between different networks using IP addresses. It determines the best path for data to travel across multiple networks, enabling communication over the internet. Together, these layers form the foundation of network communication, allowing devices to connect, share data, and communicate effectively, whether locally or globally.
