Laiklik (secularism)

Laiklik, or secularism, refers to the principle of separating religion from government and public affairs. This means that religious authorities do not influence state decisions and that individuals are free to practice any religion or none at all. In secular societies, laws and policies are created based on reason and universal principles rather than religious beliefs.
