Kunyu Wanguo Quantu
Kunyu Wanguo Quantu, created around 1602 by the Jesuit missionary Matteo Ricci, is one of the earliest world maps to incorporate Western cartographic techniques in China. It features a detailed representation of the world as understood in the 17th century, including North America, Europe, and Asia. The map combines both Chinese and Western geographical knowledge, illustrating a shift in Chinese perspectives of global geography. It also includes information on the cultures and peoples of different regions, reflecting the exchange of ideas between East and West during the period of exploration and cultural interaction.
