Khafre (Chephren)

Khafre, also known as Chephren, was an ancient Egyptian Pharaoh of the Fourth Dynasty, ruling around 2558–2532 BCE. He is best known for commissioning the second-largest pyramid at Giza, which features a distinctive smooth limestone casing on its upper steps. Khafre’s reign was marked by impressive architecture and art, including the Great Sphinx, a monumental stone sculpture with the body of a lion and the face of Khafre, symbolizing strength and wisdom. His rule helped solidify Egypt’s prosperity and cultural achievements during the Old Kingdom.
