Kapp Putsch

The Kapp Putsch was a failed attempt in 1920 by a group of right-wing extremists, including former military officers, to overthrow the Weimar Republic government in Germany. They aimed to establish a more authoritarian regime by seizing control of Berlin, but the putsch was quickly opposed by the government and widespread strikes. Without popular support and hindered by resistance within the military and civil society, the uprising collapsed within days. The event highlighted the instability faced by Germany after World War I and the challenges the fledgling democracy encountered from radical nationalist factions.
