Joseon Dynasty
The Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910) was a Korean kingdom known for establishing a centralized government and promoting Confucianism, which influenced Korean culture, education, and social structure. Founded by Yi Seong-gye, it stabilized the region after the Goryeo Dynasty. The dynasty saw significant advancements in science, literature, and technology, including the creation of the Korean script, Hangul, in the 15th century. Although it faced internal strife and external threats, such as invasions by Japan and Manchuria, it lasted over 500 years, making it one of the longest-ruling dynasties in East Asian history.
