Johannes Müller

Johannes Müller was a 19th-century German physiologist who made significant contributions to understanding how the body processes sensory information. He studied how our senses—like sight, hearing, and touch—send signals to the brain, revealing that each sense has specialized receptors tuned to specific types of stimuli. Müller also proposed the "law of specific nerve energies," which states that different nerves carry distinct types of information, meaning the brain interprets signals based on the nerve's nature, not the stimulus itself.
