Job Training Partnership Act

The Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA) was a U.S. law enacted in 1982 to provide job training and employment services to disadvantaged individuals, including youth and the unemployed. It aimed to help these individuals develop skills and find jobs, supporting economic self-sufficiency. Through partnerships between federal, state, and local agencies, JTPA funded training programs, job placements, and support services. This act was replaced by the Workforce Investment Act in 1998, which continued the mission of improving workforce development and training opportunities throughout the country.
