Japanese Navy
The Japanese Navy, officially known as the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF), is Japan’s naval branch responsible for maritime defense, protection of sea lanes, and national security. Established after World War II with a focus on self-defense, it operates modern ships, submarines, and aircraft to monitor and secure Japan's surrounding waters, including critical shipping routes. The JMSDF plays a key role in disaster response and international peacekeeping efforts, maintaining a capable but defensive maritime force within Japan’s constitutional limits.
