JAK1

JAK1 (Janus Kinase 1) is an important protein within the body's immune system. It functions as part of a signaling pathway that helps cells respond to certain hormones and immune signals, such as those involved in inflammation and blood cell production. When a message from the immune system binds to a receptor on a cell, JAK1 activates and triggers a chain reaction inside the cell, leading to a response. This process is crucial for maintaining immune function and regulating inflammation. In some diseases, like autoimmune conditions, JAK1 activity can become overactive, leading to excessive inflammation.
