Israelites
The Israelites are an ancient group of people who are traditionally considered the descendants of the twelve tribes established by the biblical patriarch Jacob, also known as Israel. They are central to Jewish history and identity, with a foundational narrative that includes their enslavement in Egypt, the Exodus led by Moses, and the receiving of the Torah at Mount Sinai. The Israelites settled in the land of Canaan, forming a kingdom known as Israel. Their history is documented in the Hebrew Bible, which also describes their beliefs, culture, and contributions to religion, particularly the development of Judaism.
