ISDN allows multiple channels to operate at the same time, enabling tasks like internet browsing, phone calls, and video conferencing to occur concurrently over a single connection. It was widely used before high-speed broadband became common, providing a more integrated and efficient way to manage various digital services over existing telephone infrastructure.
