Isabella of Portugal

Isabella of Portugal (1503–1539) was a Spanish princess and Queen of Portugal by marriage. She was the daughter of King Manuel I of Portugal and became Queen consort when she married King Charles I of Portugal, later known as Emperor Charles V of the Holy Roman Empire. Known for her intelligence, piety, and political influence, she played a significant role in Portuguese court life. Her marriage helped strengthen the alliance between Portugal and Spain. Her life was marked by cultural patronage and her dedication to her faith, but she died young at age 36, leaving a legacy intertwined with European royal history.
