Iraqi National Congress

The Iraqi National Congress (INC) is a political group that was established in 1992 to oppose Saddam Hussein's regime in Iraq. It's made up of various Iraqi factions including former military, political leaders, and groups advocating for democracy and human rights. The INC aimed to unite these groups to promote a democratic Iraq and gain international support against Saddam's rule. In the early 2000s, particularly leading up to the 2003 invasion of Iraq, the INC played a role in rallying Western support for the removal of Saddam and was involved in post-war governance efforts.
