Income Withholding

Income withholding is a process where a portion of an employee's wages is withheld by an employer to pay for obligations such as taxes, child support, or other legal judgments. Instead of receiving their full paycheck, the employee sees a deduction taken out before payment. This ensures that important obligations are met regularly and reduces the risk of non-payment. The withheld amount is then sent directly to the appropriate agency or individual, helping maintain financial responsibilities without requiring the employee to manage the payments themselves.
