immaterialism

Immaterialism is a philosophical view that posits that only minds and their thoughts truly exist, while material objects—like chairs or trees—are not independent realities but are dependent on perception or consciousness. In this view, physical objects do not exist outside of being perceived; their existence is rooted in the mind’s awareness. Essentially, reality is composed of mental phenomena, and what we believe to be the physical world is, at most, a collection of ideas or perceptions within consciousness.
