hyperreality

Hyperreality is a concept where the distinction between reality and the simulated or artificial becomes blurred. In a hyperreal situation, representations of real experiences—like those in media, advertising, or theme parks—are so convincing that people perceive them as more real than actual reality. For example, a theme park might create a fictional world that feels more vibrant and enjoyable than the everyday world, leading people to prefer that experience. In essence, hyperreality refers to a condition where the simulation shapes our perceptions and experiences, making it harder to separate what is real from what is artificially constructed.
