Simulacra

Simulacra refer to copies or representations of things that either distort reality or replace it. In philosophical terms, especially from thinkers like Jean Baudrillard, simulacra are images or symbols that no longer connect to an original reality but instead create a new, self-contained version of reality. This phenomenon occurs in media, advertising, and culture, where what we see and believe may be more about the simulated version than the actual thing. Essentially, simulacra blur the line between reality and representation, making us increasingly interact with images or concepts that are detached from authentic experiences.
