Hutu
The Hutu are an ethnic group primarily found in Rwanda and Burundi, Central Africa. Historically, they were predominantly farmers and cattle herders. In the early to mid-20th century, tensions arose between the Hutu and Tutsi, another local ethnic group with which they share cultural similarities but differ in social status and physical features. These tensions led to violent conflicts, most notably the Rwandan genocide in 1994, where extreme violence was directed mainly against Tutsi. Today, the Hutu are keen on promoting unity and stability within their communities, working toward reconciliation and peace.
