Human Rights Council (UNHRC)

The Human Rights Council (UNHRC) is a UN body that promotes and protects human rights worldwide. It reviews situations where rights may be at risk, addresses conflicts, and issues reports on countries’ human rights records. Comprising 47 member states elected by the General Assembly, the Council works through discussions, resolutions, and investigations to encourage governments to uphold dignity, freedom, and justice for all individuals. Its goal is to prevent abuses, support victims, and foster global cooperation to improve human rights standards everywhere.
