The Hooks Institute, formally known as the Benjamin L. Hooks Institute for Social Change, is an educational and research center based at the University of Memphis. It focuses on promoting civil rights, social justice, and equality. Named after Benjamin Hooks, a prominent civil rights leader and former executive director of the NAACP, the institute conducts academic research, hosts public discussions, and offers programs to engage the community.
