Hindustan Ghadar
The Hindustan Ghadar was a revolutionary movement that originated in the early 20th century, primarily among Indians living abroad, particularly in North America. Its main aim was to overthrow British colonial rule in India. The term "Ghadar," meaning "revolt" or "uprising," refers to the Ghadar Party, which was established in 1913 by Indian immigrants. They organized various activities and uprisings, intending to inspire people back home to join the fight for independence. The movement peaked during World War I but ultimately faced repression. Despite its failure, it played a significant role in India's struggle for freedom.
