Henrietta Maria of France

Henrietta Maria of France (1609-1669) was a French princess who became the queen consort of King Charles I of England. Married in 1625, she brought French Catholic influences to England during a time of religious tension between Catholics and Protestants. Henrietta Maria supported her husband's reign, especially during the English Civil War. She was known for her strong personality and political involvement, often advocating for royalist causes. After Charles I was executed in 1649, she lived in exile, remaining influential in European politics until her death. Her legacy includes her children, some of whom played significant roles in British history.
