Hawa Mahal

Hawa Mahal, also known as the "Palace of Winds," is a unique architectural landmark located in Jaipur, India. Built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, it features a distinctive façade with 953 small windows, or jharokhas, that allow cool breezes to flow through, keeping the palace comfortable in the heat. The design also enables royal women to observe street festivities without being seen. Made from pink sandstone, Hawa Mahal reflects a blend of Rajput and Islamic architectural styles, making it a popular tourist attraction and an important symbol of Jaipur's rich heritage.
