Hantavirus
Hantavirus is a virus primarily spread through contact with rodent droppings, urine, or saliva. In humans, it can cause serious respiratory diseases, including Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome (HPS), which can be life-threatening. Symptoms may start with fever, muscle aches, and fatigue, followed by severe breathing difficulties. Though rare, outbreaks can occur, especially in rural areas where rodents live. Preventing Hantavirus involves avoiding contact with rodents and their waste, especially during clean-up activities in areas where they may be present. Awareness and precaution are key to reducing the risk of infection.
