H. Rap Brown, born Hubert Gerald Brown in 1943, is an American civil rights activist and politician known for his leadership in the Black Power movement during the 1960s. As a prominent figure in the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) and later the chairman of the organization, he advocated for racial equality and social justice. Brown is also known for his fiery speeches and emphasis on the need for militant actions in the fight against systemic racism.
