Gynecological Oncology Surgery

Gynecological oncology surgery involves surgical procedures to diagnose and treat cancers of the female reproductive system, including the ovaries, uterus, cervix, and vagina. These surgeries can range from minimally invasive techniques, like laparoscopy, to more extensive operations, such as a hysterectomy (removal of the uterus). The goal is to remove tumors, take biopsies for analysis, and in some cases, preserve as much healthy tissue as possible. These surgeries are typically performed by specialized surgeons known as gynecologic oncologists, who are experts in both cancer treatment and women's health.
