Greater London Authority
The Greater London Authority (GLA) is the governing body responsible for overseeing London’s strategic administration. Comprising the elected Mayor of London and the London Assembly, the GLA plans and manages key issues such as transport, housing, the economy, and the environment across Greater London. It develops policies and allocates funding to improve the city's infrastructure and quality of life. The Mayor provides leadership and sets priorities, while the Assembly scrutinizes decisions, holds the Mayor accountable, and represents residents' interests. Together, they work to ensure London remains a vibrant, well-run, and sustainable city.
