Glucagonoma

Glucagonoma is a rare tumor of the pancreas that produces excess glucagon, a hormone that regulates blood sugar levels. This overproduction can lead to diabetes-like symptoms, including high blood sugar, weight loss, and skin issues such as a rash called necrolytic migratory erythema. Patients may also experience abdominal pain and fatigue. Diagnosis often involves blood tests and imaging studies to identify the tumor. Treatment typically involves surgery to remove the tumor, and in some cases, medication or chemotherapy may be needed if the tumor is advanced or cannot be fully removed.
